This wonderful family reminded me so much of my own sister’s family and two handsome boys. Thank goodness otherwise I would have no clue what Ben 10 was! The little guy wasn’t camera shy and surprised me with his wide vocabulary…his older brother was more shy but wow could he climb. We had a great time exploring and learning about all the different kinds of trees that were around us. Here are just a few from today’s session.

Posing Class + Favorites

March 20, 2010

Today I attended a class along with some other local photographers in Port Angeles, Washington held by Ernst. While I had a lot of fun, I learned some great tips about lighting, posing seniors, marketing and photography that made me think of “my” photography in a different way. We had an indoor lighting/posing session and then took it outdoors (YAY natural light – my favorite!). I saw this one interesting brick wall and asked Ernst about how to pose someone if they were on it, he was happy to indulge my curiosity and try it out…of course that was my favorite shot I was able to get. Another was after he had posed her sitting at a nearby coffee shop and I just loved the softness of her hands, her subtle smile and her eyes were just amazing. Thank you so much Ernst!

Finally, Spring is almost upon us! Having lived in Arizona for over 15 years, I definitely have had my fill of sun. Yet now having lived in Kitsap County for almost 10 years, I can appreciate a beautiful sunny day once in a while. The new life that Spring brings is full of color, both soft pastels and vivid hues, and the cool breeze feels like a revitalizing breath of fresh air. Although sunny conditions are not necessarily considered optimal for photography, I loved the bright light and color palette of these photographs after the dark and gray Winter we had.

This session with little Miss A and her parents was fun and a little freezing! She is such a doll, her smile and adorable giggle just make you smile too! She wasn’t happy unless she was on the move and therefore we were on the move right up until the end with a fun little cake smash to celebrate her upcoming first birthday. Too cute and such beautiful blue eyes!

Family Session + Sneak Peek

December 28, 2009

I had so much fun photographing this family while I was visiting Arizona. I loved that they were themselves…lots of smiles and energy. You can see how much fun they were just by their photos! I did a faded process on their pictures upon request and I think it really enhances their expressions.

It was a perfect winter day for being outdoors…warm and sunny…as you can depend on Arizona to offer. I’m so glad we were able to squeeze this session in while we were there.

What a cute smile and sweet personality little Miss R has. Shy at first but by the time I snapped a few shots, she was telling me all sorts of stories.
