What I enjoy about pregnancy portraits is how often it’s about a moment of being still, a pause. The soon-to-be will soon become – and your heart will feel full. I’d love to share with you this maternity session and say to this expecting mother “You are full of beauty.”

This  adorable “big brother” is always on the move so my guess is that his soon to be little sister will probably be crawling right away just so she can keep up with him :)  I think the only time he stopped was for a quick hug or kiss from his mommy and daddy. Such a fun and sweet family, I’m really looking forward to meeting their baby girl!

The soft light from the cloud-filled sky created a perfect moment on this path to capture this beautiful couple anticipating the arrival of a precious baby girl.

I so often want to tell expecting mothers to enjoy this moment, the waiting will be over too soon. For as much as you can tell someone about being pregnant, the experience itself is inexplicable. Having the ”before and after” of this time in your baby’s life creates memories not only for you to have always, but a special reminder for them of where their life began.

A sneak peek from today’s maternity session, one with the incredibly adorable big brother and one of this beautiful expecting mom.

I haven’t shared a black & white portrait for a sneak peek in awhile and this photo just seemed to be a great one for it. I had a fun time with these two and I’ll bet their baby girl will be just as fun-loving as her daddy and as kind as her mommy.

This sweet and fun family is expecting a…surprise! :)

This easygoing expecting mom and her adorable German Shepard are so sweet. She is a wonderfully genuine kind of person…I can’t wait to meet her little one!

Every mom wants that “one shot” of their family, you know, everyone looking at the camera and smiling…though the reality of a family is everything but that. Everyone in the family is headed in a different direction and while one may be happily smiling another is probably just the opposite. For every “one shot” there are usually 100 outtakes or more of the real stuff.

This expecting mom has a beautiful family and although we did get that “one shot” or two (those below), I have many that show just how much fun they have as a family and care for one another…and how can you not love capturing that.

I spent a beautiful Spring day with a beautiful expecting mother…and Ringo (who was such a big sweetie to have posed for a few).
