Just four days old and sweet as can be! She was a surprise coming two weeks before she was due and to finally found out that baby was a girl…very exciting and just so perfect! I was actually doing a couple test shots and she gave me this big smile, I just had to share that one in her sneak peek. Even though she is so new, she was very alert and I have quite a few adorable awake photos of this little princess. It was so nice to finally meet Dad and the grandparents who traveled from afar, I’m so glad we were able to get some of you too! I’ll have many more to share very soon. Until then, I hope you enjoy your sneak peek :)

From bare skin to bold color, this session was so beautiful. Using natural light for some dramatic pregnancy portraits, it was actually like maternity boudoir…making her gorgeous expecting mother curves into fine art. After the indoor portraits we headed outside to take advantage of the nice weather and I just loved the vivid colors and pattern of the flowy dress against the textures of nature. Very much looking forward to meeting her baby boy next month and sharing those photos too!

I love that this mom wanted to include some photos of the foods she craved during her pregnancy, grapes being the most memorable…that was such fun! She had such a cute baby belly…now just to find out if its a girl or boy…how can she stand not knowing?!? hehe. I feel lucky to have been given the chance to photograph this part of her journey as she becomes a mother and I cannot wait to meet baby (and Daddy) next month!

You may remember this sweetheart from her sneak peek a couple weeks ago. She had such delicate details and beautiful blue eyes…little Miss A was awake most of the session but I waited it out to catch a few sleepy photos and wanted to show some of my favorites from the session. How quickly we forget just how tiny their fingers were or the way their toes looked when they are so new…which is why newborn photography is so special.

With the Dad expected home the day baby is due, this family will be sharing some wonderful moments together soon – so I wanted to share my favorites from her session before their arrival. She was one of the sweetest people I’ve met and can only imagine her little girl will be bringing such joy to their home. Oh and I’m sure she’ll have her big brother wrapped around her little finger as soon as she arrives.

This maternity session proves that bare is so beautiful. The mom wasn’t afraid to show off her pregnant curves and that led to so many dramatic and artistic photos. The connection between her and her son is already so strong and I can see it in the photos from today. She shared with me the 3D ultrasound images of her little boy and they were so adorable, he kept smiling!  I can’t wait to meet him and I’m hoping he’ll smile for me too.

Yesterday was another beautiful day on the Kitsap Peninsula. My day was spent attending another great workshop by Amanda K Photography. We had a full day of information, discussion, and a live shoot with 2 cute kiddos, 2 beautiful seniors and 1 adorable couple. We practiced how to make the most with the conditions you are in – as full sun presents certain challenges for a photographer. I thought I would try out some different ways on processing the photos so here are some of my favorites.

It was such a perfect day to spend outdoors today, so I thought I would share two photos from outside. I can’t wait to meet baby – and to find out if it’s a boy or a girl – that’s right, its a surprise! Momma has been craving sweets and fruit, so I’m thinking girl…but who knows…maybe it’ll be a sweet little boy.

She would have been pretty in pink…but I think she looks beautiful in black & white. Here’s a sneak peek of Baby A – and even though she was too interested in having her picture taken than sleeping, I did get a few of her in dreamland with more to share soon. Oh, and go Cornhuskers! ;)
