When I saw this I knew it was the perfect one for a sneak peek. It makes me love being a maternity photographer when I capture an image like this for someone. To me everything about it is beautiful, especially this gorgeous expecting mama.

First let me say THANK YOU to all those who came out today!!! It was a clear and sunny day on the Dyes Inlet, really nice for walking around and enjoying Whaling Days in Silverdale.
Here’s a shot of our group – It was so nice to meet all of you and have an opportunity to chat with you and shoot with you.

Once we were near the end, we walked through some of the carnival rides as they were getting set up for the day. I thought the lights and colors were fun and so here is my themed set “Shooting Stars”.

Such a beautiful sunny afternoon on the Silverdale waterfront overlooking Dyes Inlet. As I arrived, the bride was adding finishing touches to make sure everything was just perfect. The tables were dressed with classic white hydrangea, roses and pencil starfish with pink accents. The palette of pink and white was brought right into the attire with the bridesmaids in pink JCrew dresses and wearing simple starfish necklaces. The bride’s gown from Pearls & Lace in Burien was gorgeous, it looked like ripples of water…her hair adorned with a single stargazer lily…so beautiful. During the ceremony they poured colored sand to symbolize their unity…a meaningful piece of art to remind them of their families blending together. After a little food and wine it was time for the first dance and then on to speeches and their amazing applique cake by Lori Coulter which was a modern twist on a classic, white with sea-inspired decorations. It was such a great day, filled with fun and in between filled with tranquil moments shared between family and friends.
A chance meeting walking out of a pub and four years later they were walking down the aisle. I have to say this couple really knows how to have fun…now its on to Mardi Gras and married life.

Also thank you so much to my second shooter, Mindy Capps, for capturing some fantastic moments during Melissa & Michael’s special day. You were awesome!
Here is a sneak peek from yesterday’s incredible waterfront wedding in Silverdale. It took backyard wedding to a whole new level. Such an amazing location for a wedding, not only for the view, but that the property has been in their family for generations. You couldn’t ask for a more meaningful venue for such a beautiful day.

I wanted to share this one as well, because when I took it, it reminded me of something one of her bridesmaid’s told me…about how Melissa had been dreaming about this wedding since she was little. As I saw this little girl just looking out onto the water I thought about how that could have been little Melissa sitting in that exact spot, dreaming about her wedding day on the waterfront. A dream that came true yesterday.

This one week old angel reminded me that patience pays off. As he drifted off to dreamland, he smiled a few times and then fell asleep long enough for me to photograph each darling detail. Here are some of my favorites of this little guy’s session…

With every detail of their wedding having been planned months in advance, Adriana and Shawn were anxious for June 24th to come around. From first look to first dance, you could see the joy and the love that they shared. The ceremony took place in The Sunken Garden, complete with string trio. The reception was inside Thornewood Castle, and after the speeches and cake cutting, they were ready to party. It was a challenge narrowing down photos for this post, such a beautiful wedding for such a sweet couple. You can view more photos of the Thornewood Castle wedding venue on a separate post, here.

The Thornewood Castle in Lakewood, Washington is absolutely enchanting. I had the pleasure of photographing a wedding and reception at this dream venue in June, view those wedding photos here. Thornewood truly exemplifies grandeur with handcrafted details and a collection of rare artwork. Full of history and charm, the castle and its grounds are beautifully maintained. Not only is it available for weddings, its also a romantic bed & breakfast with one-of-a-kind suites. As I understand, Thornewood Castle was originally a Tudor Gothic manor in England, near Wales, in the 16th century. Around 1907 the structure was dismantled, shipped, and rebuilt on American Lake in Washington State for Chester Thorne, one of the founders of the Port of Tacoma. I don’t see how you can get any cuter than this little guy. He is absolutely adorable!! Just in case I missed the first smile he gave me a couple more to catch…he even smiled on his 3D ultrasound so I guess I shouldn’t have been surprised. As long as he could snuggle his mommy he was happy and I have to tell you little one, your momma certainly loves you beyond words. You are truly your mom’s love song.

This wonderful family reminded me so much of my own sister’s family and two handsome boys. Thank goodness otherwise I would have no clue what Ben 10 was! The little guy wasn’t camera shy and surprised me with his wide vocabulary…his older brother was more shy but wow could he climb. We had a great time exploring and learning about all the different kinds of trees that were around us. Here are just a few from today’s session.
