Why is it that everyone looks cuter with mouse ears? Even when you start out with this already adorable little fellow who is 7 days new. Just perfect for his themed nursery

Seven days new and today she thought it more interesting to see the world around her than take a long snooze (so many new things to look at of course!). Though she would close her eyes for a few moments at a time, just enough for some sweet sleepy shots, like the one below.
Another little lady as sweet as can be… During a little break I was able to take a peek into her bird-themed nursery. Such delicate handmade details from beautiful watercolor art by her Momma to a wonderful patchwork bird mobile above her crib. You could tell everything was put together with such care and made with such love.
This is a very special Mother’s Day for several women I know, because its their very first as a Mommy. Those first overwhelming days of exhaustion later turn into memories of snuggling and the sweetest sleepy smiles. I feel so privileged to photograph such a special time as their lives are just beginning…both as a baby…and as a Mommy. You hold a miracle in your arms and an amazing kind of love in your heart. Happy Mother’s Day!

The couple from the maternity session just a few weeks ago welcomed their baby boy a bit early. Well, quite a bit early…but at least Daddy was able to watch his son be born via Skype (he was deployed at the time). So of course, he did smile during his session…this one is for Daddy

Gorgeous in green and such a dream to photograph. I have to say that her little leg sticking straight up for several moments during her session was the cutest thing next to her adorable smile.
Six days ago this little one made her debut. Initially when the parents mentioned their favorite colors were green and brown, and that Dad was a carpenter, I was on a mission to find something extra special for their session. Since custom portraiture involves incorporating some element of who you are, I think this fits her (and her parents) perfectly.
I wanted to share some more of my favorites from little P’s session. Oh how I love newborn sessions….soooo cute!
