Having friends in common usually means you are going to run into each other and when they did one day in particular, something sparked. Maybe it was
“B-Mac’s” charm, or Jami’s gorgeous smile…but a relationship developed and eventually brought us to their wedding day. Classic elegance with a touch of glam is a pretty good description of the bride and that truly came through in her attire…hello beautiful!

The theme was black & white from the invitations to the shoes. Getting ready with mimosa’s is definitely a great start to an amazing day. The girls wore gray dresses made of a subtle shimmer fabric which were so pretty especially in the sunshine. The bride loves photos in black & white so I posted another sneak peek here though she looks absolutely stunning in color of course. The gentlemen were in black and white and looking quite handsome. We had even stopped into the Old Town Pub for a few shots of these cool guys. The traditional ceremony took place at Old Saviour’s Lutheran church in Bremerton and they decided not to see each other before. Right after was the receiving line we had a little time for some shots of the bride & groom before heading to the reception at McCloud’s. By then the sun was setting and everyone was ready for some food and fun.

You can tell by the photos that they had a crazy fun time including a hilarious speech (complete with safety vest, goggles and a horn loudspeaker), tons of dancing, and even a bull ride by the groom. Eight hours could not contain all the great moments of this celebration, but every party has to end eventually. Fortunately they have so many wonderful memories of their perfect wedding day.

Such a beautiful sunny afternoon on the Silverdale waterfront overlooking Dyes Inlet. As I arrived, the bride was adding finishing touches to make sure everything was just perfect. The tables were dressed with classic white hydrangea, roses and pencil starfish with pink accents. The palette of pink and white was brought right into the attire with the bridesmaids in pink JCrew dresses and wearing simple starfish necklaces. The bride’s gown from Pearls & Lace in Burien was gorgeous, it looked like ripples of water…her hair adorned with a single stargazer lily…so beautiful. During the ceremony they poured colored sand to symbolize their unity…a meaningful piece of art to remind them of their families blending together. After a little food and wine it was time for the first dance and then on to speeches and their amazing applique cake by Lori Coulter which was a modern twist on a classic, white with sea-inspired decorations. It was such a great day, filled with fun and in between filled with tranquil moments shared between family and friends.

A chance meeting walking out of a pub and four years later they were walking down the aisle. I have to say this couple really knows how to have fun…now its on to Mardi Gras and married life. :)

Also thank you so much to my second shooter, Mindy Capps, for capturing some fantastic moments during Melissa & Michael’s special day. You were awesome!

Here is a sneak peek from yesterday’s incredible waterfront wedding in Silverdale. It took backyard wedding to a whole new level. Such an amazing location for a wedding, not only for the view, but that the property has been in their family for generations. You couldn’t ask for a more meaningful venue for such a beautiful day.

Wedding on the Silverdale Waterfront

I wanted to share this one as well, because when I took it, it reminded me of something one of her bridesmaid’s told me…about how Melissa had been dreaming about this wedding since she was little. As I saw this little girl just looking out onto the water I thought about how that could have been little Melissa sitting in that exact spot, dreaming about her wedding day on the waterfront. A dream that came true yesterday.
