What do you charge for a newborn session?
There are two different newborn session options, which are detailed below. A $100 retainer is required to secure session availability, the entire retainer is applied as a credit toward your session.
Do you offer maternity sessions?
The beauty and anticipation of an expecting mother is amazing to photograph, it would be my honor to capture this special time with a 1 hour session. Your maternity session will be scheduled in advance for a date between 32 & 36 weeks, when your belly is the perfect size for pregnancy portraits. My style dictates that most often sessions take place outside where the photographs will then reflect the expressions of the moment, resulting in beautiful and distinct lifestyle portraits. If weather isn’t favorable or you prefer more studio-style or intimate portraits, then the session can take place in my studio in Silverdale. You’ll choose 10 of your favorite images from the gallery as digital files.
$450 plus tax (available in addition to your newborn session)
What about a hospital/post-delivery session?
This is a memorable part of your journey as parents and a wonderful opportunity to document the welcoming of your brand new little one into the world. With a post-delivery session you’ll feel at ease knowing you’ll have quality photos to tell the story of their beginning. Unlike birth photography, this takes place at a specific time within 48 hours after delivery. This is also a wonderful way to capture siblings meeting the newest family member for the first time or being able to share a gallery of images to family & friends that live far away.
Photos & Video: Photos as outlined above and a unique 1-2 minute video file to view and share. An example can be viewed at this link. $800 plus tax
When should I schedule the newborn session?
It’s best to contact me during your pregnancy so we can schedule a tentative date reserved for you. Once baby is born, a date within the first twelve days will be finalized – while they are still so new and happy to be curled up for a peaceful nap.
Where does the newborn session take place?
My natural light studio is kept toasty warm for your newborn’s comfort, the perfect place for their first portrait session. My experience and ability to gently work with newborns offers you time to take a break on the cozy parent seating area.
Do you supply the props?
My style is simplistic, using colors and textures to create customized sets for your session while keeping the focus on your newborn. I have a variety of background fabrics, accessories, and props.
Do you have payment plan options?
After the retainer is paid, you can make payments so that your session is paid prior to your scheduled date. Files are not released until session is paid in full.
Do you offer birth announcements?
Everyone has their own style preferences so instead of limiting you to a few, I suggest finding a design you love at Artifact Uprising and you can easily upload the photos from your session to personalize them.
When and where do you do the maternity session?

Can I have a photo with my newborn and/or their sibling(s)?
Sometimes parents stress over trying to get “the perfect family picture” and the truth is that sometimes it isn’t possible. I specialize in newborn photography so sessions are mostly of your newborn, especially during the shorter Essential Session. Parent/and or siblings may be incorporated into the Classic Session as there is time to allot for those special images. For siblings ages 3 and under, we’ll attempt one image for the gallery – this sometimes takes several shots to get the “one”. Please keep in mind toddlers are adjusting to change and may not want to participate at the time. I ask that toddlers come just at the beginning or at the end of the session so that during the session it is a quiet and calm environment conducive to soundly sleeping newborns. Neither parents nor siblings are ever forced into doing anything they don’t want to in my studio 😉
If you are interested in a family session with siblings please consider a Little Ones by Laura session
